Writing and Copywriting for your Web Site

Writing is an endeavor that even the best of us can use help and guidance from the professionals. It's not an aptitude you're going to develop overnight.

Copywriting is like the icing on the cake of a good web site. It will take what's there and make it so much better! By all means, if you don't feel up to the task of doing your own copywriting, get help from a professional! Don't make the mistake of doing it yourself!

If you're going to do it anyway, practice, practice and practice some more. Read every book you can get your hands on. Copywriting is like most other things in life, the more you do it, the better you get at it.

For good writing on your web site, the emphasis should always be kept on the needs of your customer; after all, he/she is the reason the web site was built in the first place. Of course, care should be taken to to double check your spelling, grammar and syntax.

Theme wise, you should keep to your main subject and only touch on secondary ideas that are related to your main concept. The point is not to wander too far because the search engines will penalize you for it. Likewise, you should have a structured outline with a headline,  subheadings and the individual points you're going to use in the body copy.

Professional Writing Help

There are a number of websites that specialize in producing finished copywriting for most any choice of key subjects;
a boon to those of us that find it hard to do it on our own!
Prices for finished article vary; you can submit a batch of them
and get a quantity discount. I've heard some commercial writers will deliver 10 finished single page articles for $50.00

Make sure to read our articles: "Original Content - Writing as a Marketing and Website Promotion Tool" and "Writing for The Search Engines in Your Own Style," located in the Articles section.

A Word About Writing Your Own Newsletter

Special care should be taken when distributing your eZine or Newsletter to your mailing list subscribers. The computer you
use to compose and upload the files to your server should have
the most up to date anti-virus possible.

A special effort on your part should be made to insure your computer has all the necessary applications to deal with viruses, trojans, spyware, malware and the rest of the associated pests roaming through the internet.

This is something so critical I even thought about creating a special section within this website for it. Imagine for one moment what would happen if your mailing list subscribers get  bombed
with a stream of scumware coming from your newsletter?

The above is enough to make any marketer go without sleep! Halfway measures won't do here; get the best that you can.
As an example, I have four separate applications installed on my computer for dealing with all kinds of bugs, viruses, Trojan horses, spyware, key loggers. I make it a point to keep them updated on
a regular basis and scan my computer often.
